Overview
A profile of the posts that exist within your organisation can be set up in the Jobs table.
Having created the job roles in your organisation a reporting hierarchy can be established.
| Note: Whilst the hierarchy is set up in the Jobs table it can also be viewed from the Employee Directory and Organisation Charts. |
To view the job hierarchy
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Job, Pay & Reward > Job and Pay Configuration > Jobs
- Pre 2025 (top) menu: People Admin > Jobs
- The screen displays the list of jobs that have already been created
- Locate and then click on the job that you wish to view
- Information relating to the job will be displayed on three tabs: Details, Notes, Hierarchy
- Click on the Hierarchy tab
- The current structure of the role will be displayed if it exists
To assign a manager role
- Click on Change Manager in order to select the manager to which this role will report
- A list of roles will be presented with filtering, sorting and grouping functionality to assist in the location of the role
- Having located the reporting manager role, click on it to select and you will then be asked to confirm the change of manager. Ensure you have the correct manager role selected and click Yes
- The manager selection will then be confirmed
To remove or change the manager role
The manager can be removed or changed using the Remove Manager or Change Manager buttons
Navigating the job hierarchy
- When viewing the job hierarchy the structure will display the post that is in view together with any subordinate roles and the role that it reports to
- By default the hierarchy will be displayed in a graphical structural format. There is a toggle button which will enable you to change the view to a list and to revert to a structural view
- When in the List view the Level displays where the role is in the hierarchy
- In either view of the hierarchy clicking on a job will make this the ‘selected job’ and will enable you to view the details information for the role

Note: There may be scenarios where you do not want a particular role to be displayed on the organisation chart structure. For example, you may have casual or volunteer workers. In these scenarios you need to set the slider on the Job Details to Hide on Org Charts as required. |
