Answer
If the “Home Currency Basic Pay” displays at 0 in the employees Job and Pay record, this usually relates to the Currency configuration.
How to fix it
Job and Pay check:
- Go to Job, Pay & Reward > Job and Pay > click into the relevant record
- Click Pay Details tab
- Click the upward arrow on the Basic Pay field which will add 1 to this field
- Click away from the field
- Click back into the field and then click the downward arrow to put the values back to its original state.
- This will force the Home Currency Basic Pay to recalculate
Currency Code Table Check:
- Go to Job, Pay & Reward > Job and Pay > click into the relevant record
- Click Pay Details tab
- Make a note of the Currency populated in the record:
System settings check:
- Go to System Configuration > System Settings > System Wide Defaults tab
- Make a note of the System Home Currency
- In this example we have “Euro” in the Job and Pay Record and “Sterling” in system settings.
- Conversion rates allow HR to convert salaries and hourly rates between currencies. In this instance, we are going from Euro to Sterling and vice versa
- Once you have this information, navigate to Data Management > Code Tables > Job and Pay > Currencies
- Click into Euro. This will take you to the Conversion Rates tab where you can see the conversion rates
- If Sterling is not listed, click Add new record and fill out all columns in the grid:
- Once you are happy, click Save Changes
- Follow the same steps for Sterling (The home currency)
- Once the currency code table is up to date, navigate to Job, Pay & Reward > Job and Pay > click into the relevant record
- Click Pay Details tab
- Click the upward arrow on the Basic Pay field which will add 1 to this field
- Click away from the field
- Click back into the field and then click the downward arrow to put the values back to its original state
- This will force the Home Currency Basic Pay to recalculate
