HR
Step-by-step guide
This guide will show you how system administrators can change a manager during a review process.
Contents
Introduction
There may be situations where a review has been inserted on an employee’s record in the Employee Dashboard, but then there is a change of manager during the review process.
A change may also be required where a manager role is vacant when an employee review is inserted, in which the manager name will be blank. This can be changed once the new manager is in post.
To change the manager reviewer
Users with a system administrator licence are able to change the manager when needed.
Note: Changes can only be made to reviews that have not been signed off and are therefore incomplete |
To change the manager in a review, the system administrator can access the specific review via
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Employee Dashboard > Reviews Tab
- Pre 2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent Management > Employee Dashboard > Reviews Tab
- Click on the relevant review and then into the manager form
- A Change Manager button is visible for system administrators which will present a full staff list to select a new manager
- Where the review has been partially completed, submitted sections will show in a different colour
Note: The new manager selected must have subordinate access to the employee through the hierarchy, and appropriate user role permissions, to be able to see the review. |
- Once the new manager has been selected, there is an additional option to keep the
previous manager comments
- If choosing to keep the comments, the message will confirm a summary of what has been retained
Notes:
|
New Manager
When the new manager views the form, the previous manager comments will be present in draft (unsubmitted) mode, but as they were previously submitted, they will still be visible to other users permitted to see the review.
In the example below, the first two section circles in the workflow are no longer a different colour as the new manager needs to check and submit.
The new manager can edit the original comments and add their own as necessary to complete the review. If keeping the original comments they may wish to attribute them to the previous manager as illustrated below
