Handle applicants blocked by Killer Questions
If an applicant has been blocked by a Killer Question, their answers can be reset to allow them to reapply.
- Run the Applicants Who Have Failed Killer Questions report to identify candidates who have failed a Killer Question
- Once you have identified the relevant candidates, run the Reset Killer Question Failed Applications report to reset their answers. This will allow them to reattempt the Killer Questions
Update the on-screen warning for Killer Questions
You can amend the failure message displayed to candidates to clearly explain the consequences of failing a Killer Question.
- Log in to the iRecruit Admin Portal
- Navigate to Communication > On-Screen Messages
- Locate the Killer Question Message Failure message
- Update the wording as required
- We recommend clearly stating that an incorrect answer will prevent the candidate from reapplying for the same vacancy
- Click Save to confirm your changes
Add question-specific failure messages
If you would like to display a more specific failure message for individual Killer Questions:
- Navigate to Company Name > Shortlisting > Killer Questions > Questions & Answers
- Open the relevant Killer Question
- Enter the required text in the Explanation for Failure field
- Save your changes
The explanation entered here will be displayed to candidates when they fail that specific Killer Question, allowing you to provide more targeted guidance or context.
| Tip: Clear messaging helps prevent suitable candidates from being blocked by mistake. |
