This guide helps HR administrators and recruitment teams identify and correct issues with name-related merge fields in Ciphr iRecruit email templates, ensuring that candidate and recruiter names display as intended in communications.
Contents
Steps to follow
Incorrect name combinations in emails are often caused by the wrong merge field being used in the template.
- Open the Admin Portal for Ciphr iRecruit
- Go to the Communications tile
- Open the specific email template where the incorrect name merge field appears
- Locate the merge field in question (for example, {13}) in the subject or body of the email
- Check the merge field picker or list in the template editor to see if a different candidate or recruiter name merge field is available that better matches the intended output
- If a more appropriate merge field is available, update the template to use the correct one from the list
- Save the changes to the email template
Common issues:
The email body and subject have their own separate eligible merge fields - ensure the correct ones are used for the subject and body (you can see the relevant merge field dropdowns below)
| Tip: If you are unsure which merge field to use, take a screenshot of the merge field list and the template, and send it to Ciphr support for further assistance. |
