This guide helps HR and recruitment administrators diagnose and resolve errors that occur when candidates select categories and sub-categories during registration in Ciphr iRecruit.
Contents
Steps to follow
Registration errors can occur when a job category does not have any valid sub-categories configured.
- Ask the candidate which Category they selected when the error occurred during registration
- Navigate to Admin Portal > Configuration > Job Options
- Select Job Categories
- Locate the category identified by the candidate
- Check whether the category contains any active sub-categories
- If no sub-categories exist, create at least one sub-category and save the changes
- If sub-categories are already present, edit and re-save one of the existing sub-categories to refresh the configuration
- Ask the candidate to attempt registration again and confirm whether the issue has been resolved
- If the issue persists, test the registration process using the same category to determine whether the problem can be reproduced
|
Important: Categories displayed on the candidate portal must have at least one valid sub-category configured. Categories without sub-categories can generate errors during registration. If the category is visible on the candidate portal but cannot be found within the Admin Portal, contact Ciphr Support for further investigation. The category may be a legacy or system-managed category that requires backend intervention. |
| Note: Re-saving an existing sub-category can sometimes refresh the category structure and resolve display or registration issues without the need for further changes |
Expected outcome
After ensuring the selected category contains at least one valid sub-category and refreshing the configuration where necessary, candidates should be able to complete registration successfully. If the category remains unavailable in the Admin Portal or the error persists, Ciphr Support may need to investigate the category configuration at the database level.
