Your Q2 2026 HR release notes are here. We'll keep this page updated throughout the quarter as new fixes land. We only include notable defects that may affect our customers generally; customers will be separately notified of defect fixes specifically related to you via your customer care tickets.
2026-8 (June 2026-2)
- Due for release week commencing 22 June
- This release brings new features for holiday and cloud payroll management, plus fixes that make day-to-day use smoother and more reliable.
- AI assistant absence booking improvements also included. See 2026-Q2 AI assistant release notes for more details.
Holiday and absence
- Over-allowance warning on verification: When reviewing a holiday request, approvers will see a warning alert / message if approving the holiday request would cause the employee to exceed their remaining allowance. The warning is displayed in both the verification summary grid and the verification detail view on desktop application. Support for the new mobile experience will be available soon.
Over-allowance warning: flagged in the list (top left), on the request (top) and at the approval stage (bottom)
Reporting
- Absence Summary Report: No longer times out when run for large data sets (5,000+ employees)
- Safeguarding Report: The Expired After filter now returns records with a future expiry date correctly
- Reports with additional tables: Previously, creating a report with an Additional Table (eg Training) showed an error on save, even though the report was created
People and org structure
- Org Chart and Multi-Entity: The Org Chart can now restrict what each user sees by entity, just like Who's Off. Previously, Multi-Entity Global restrictions removed restricted entities from the chart for everyone, which could leave users looking at an almost empty chart. A new per-entity option changes this so each user sees only the people in the entities they're permitted to view. HR and admins still see everything. The existing behaviour stays as default. To switch on per-entity restrictions, enable "Org Chart: Multi Entity per-user restriction" in System Configuration.
- Who's Off and Multi-Entity: With Multi-Entity Restrict Global Pages turned on, the Company Who's Off page now shows the right employees for your entity instead of appearing blank
- Employee Dashboard Reviews: When you change the manager on a review, the search now returns active employees only. Leavers no longer appear
- Leaver Details: Updates on the Leaver Details page now save correctly
Security and system
- Pay calculations: Fixed an issue where certain zero-hour work patterns could cause calculations to break
Payroll management
-
International bank details: When you add bank details for an international employee, sort code and bank number validation no longer blocks the save. These fields are UK-specific and are now bypassed for international records.
For users with a Non-UK country in their Personal Details Address Country field (Any values that doesn't match United Kingdom, UK, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and blank values) the Payroll Management sync now allows for blank values in Bank No & Bank Sort Code to be sent to payroll cloud, without flagging these missing values as validation errors
2026-7 (June 2026)
- Due for release week commencing 1 June 2026
- This release includes new features and a number of fixes that improve day-to-day use. A Ciphr Sign-In update is also included as part of this release - see 2026 Sign-in release notes for details
Payroll integration
- Leaver grace period: A new configuration setting allows you to extend payroll integration functionality to leavers. This gives payroll teams more time to process final payments before the integration stops syncing a leaver's records.
- Allowances - sync for leavers: Setting an employee as a leaver no longer causes a sync error when their allowance has already been included in a closed pay run.
- Search criteria: Search term and page position are now preserved when you click into an event's details and navigate back to the list.
Reports
-
Generated reports tab: A new tab on the Reports page shows your previously generated reports in one place, making them easier to find without navigating to a separate page.
2026-6 (May 2026-2)
Due for release week commencing 25 May 2026.
Fixes
- CIPHRFLEXI absences: desktop CIPHRFLEXI absences no longer default to 0 hours / 0 days, so they now count correctly toward holiday totals.
- Emergency & other contact details: verification buttons now display in the correct order.
- Letters: the template Notes field now accepts up to 500 characters, matching the limit shown in the error message, rather than incorrectly rejecting entries over 100 characters.
- Manage field groups: the Usage column on the Manage Field Groups and Fields page now shows readable text instead of a string of commas.
- Reporting: the report download modal now updates to confirm when a report is ready for download. Note: running multiple reports in separate tabs simultaneously may still cause the first tab to hang while the second receives its response.
- Spine increment tool: the "Show Already Incremented" view no longer lists records that were only closed by a Code Tables "Update Job and Pay" operation.
- Training evaluation export: ratings answers now appear correctly in the training evaluation export.
Payroll integration
- Allowance sync errors: the specific error message is now displayed instead of the generic "A system error occurred"
- Allowances and payments - initial sync: pay elements created during the initial sync now process as expected.
- Leavers: employees who are already leavers when first synced to payroll are now correctly flagged as leavers, rather than active accounts.
-
Pay element mappings: all elements now display correctly in the mapping dropdowns.
2026-5 (May 2026-1)
- Due for release week commencing 11 May 2026
- A set of fixes that improve day-to-day use. This release also includes an update to our AI assistant and lays the groundwork for an upcoming Benefits integration.
- See 2026-Q2 AI assistant release notes for more details.
Fixes
- Addresses and emergency contacts: The required field asterisk now displays correctly on Name, Optional Header, and Notes labels when adding or editing these records, where those fields are configured as required in Data Management.
- Leaver workflow: When setting an account to leaver where secondary records share the same leaving date, the system no longer prompts you to select a secondary record to promote to primary.
- Mobile: Absence booking now uses the system default work pattern if there isn't one assigned, (consistent with desktop absence booking).
-
Org chart: Searching in list view and opening a result now shows all configured fields (for example, Work Pattern Description) rather than displaying
[value]. - Payroll integration: Blank shift hours in Work Patterns no longer cause the Job Pay sync to fail.
- Reports: Date/time fields from a hidden field group are now correctly blanked out in the output rather than causing an error.
- Secondary records: Double-clicking 'Create secondary record' no longer creates duplicate records.

2026-4 (April 2026)

Fixes
- Absence cost filter form: Running reports with this filter no longer error
- Bulk change: Actions no longer fail on fields with descriptions over 50 characters
- Mobile view: Pending time-off verification records now display correctly
- Rewards leaderboard: Employee profile pictures now display as expected
- Terms & conditions: T&Cs no longer update against future-dated job and pay records before the effective date
