Payroll (Accord)
Step-by-step guide
If you are correcting a tax year prior to 2020/21, you need to submit and Earlier Year Update. From 2020/21 you will need to submit an FPS correction. Additionally, corrections can only be made for tax years which you have used our software for.
Go to the Tax Year and select the tax year you need to correct. Click OK.
Next go to the Employee > Employee Enter/Adjust
Select the employee and go to the Accumulators tab and correct the YTDs figures as required. For the demo I have added 25.00 Student Loan collected YTD.
Note:When adjusting any values that impact NI, be sure to also update the EE+ER NI and EE NI figures in the NI table located under the Accumulators. These values must align exactly with the NI figures in the Accumulators to avoid any RTI errors. |
Once this employee's Accumulators are corrected, click Save > Send YTD RTI data to HMRC.
Click Yes > OK
If you have other employees to correct please this now before you move on to generating the FPS correction.
Go to Calculation > RTI Processing
Check the Edit RTI Journal to ensure the employees you corrected are listed
Double click on the record and review the Year To Date Payment Details section to confirm all is correct
Close > Close
Click on RTI Submissions > Add New > New FPS (Full Payment Submission) from 2020/21 / New EYU (Earlier Year Update Submission) up to 2019/2020
Note: Although the system supports both EYU and FPS for updating previous/closed tax years’ employee data we recommend the below:
