As part of your performance and development processes, you may set objectives for employees to work towards. This guide explains how objectives that are recorded in HR can be grouped together, with weightings applied to reflect their relative importance or associated rewards.

To enable objective weighting
- Weighting can be enabled/disabled in (System) > System Configuration > System Configuration
- Filter the Group on Talent Management
- The Show Objective Weighting Fields setting can be set to true/false to enable/disable, by clicking on it and amending accordingly, then click Update to save the change
To create an objective and allocate a weighting group
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Objectives
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent Management > Objectives
- A list of any existing Objectives will be presented for the employee - see linked guide for more details
- Click Insert New Record and record the objective details as required
- The Weighting Group enables you to group together objectives under a group name
- Enter the name of the Weighting Group. This name only needs to be entered once and will then be
- available for further objectives to be put into that group
- At this point the Weighting Group Percentage will not be available for completion
- Click Update
- Confirmation that the record has been created will be presented and the choices of:
- Edit – to edit that objective, Summary – to return to the Summary view or
- Add another record – to continue adding further objectives

To record the weighting group percentage
- Having entered the employee objectives they will be visible in the Summary view with the Weighting Group indicated
- Click Edit Weights
- From the dropdown list select the group of objectives for which weights are being entered
- The objectives will then be displayed
- In the Weighting Group Percentage column enter the percentage as required for each of the objectives
- Click Update
