This guide explains how to rate objectives within a performance review form and close them off.
| Note: This feature is only available with the add-on full Talent Management module. |
Objectives within a review
If your review form includes objectives, rate and comment on each as needed as part of completing your review.
Reviews are completed via Performance & Development > Employee Dashboard > Reviews tab. What happens after you complete an objective depends on whether your objectives section is enhanced or not.
If you see View/Edit, Add Objective, and Refresh Objectives buttons
| Note: You must be looking at the objectives section where you are the named reviewer and it's not signed off, to see the buttons (your own or subordinate review if you're the manager). |
If you see the buttons in the objectives section then they are enhanced which means they are flexible.
You can update an objective, including marking it as complete, directly from within the review, then use Refresh Objectives to bring the current status into the form.
If you want an objective to stay visible for discussion, leave it in progress until after the review, then mark it complete afterwards. See Closing off objectives within a review below.
If you don't see these buttons
Firstly ensure you are looking at the objectives section within a review where you are the named reviewer and it's not signed off.
If there are no buttons then your objectives were fixed at the point the review was inserted. Any changes made to objectives afterwards, including marking one as complete, won't be reflected in this review, they'll only appear in reviews inserted after that change.
Closing off objectives within a review
Each objective has an Objective Completed slider on its detail page. Turning this on marks the objective as fully signed off, and it will no longer appear in any review form it's included in.
If your review has the enhanced buttons, you can get to this slider directly from the review by clicking View or Edit on the objective, mark it complete there, then use Refresh Objectives back in the review to update the form to reflect the change.
If you don't have those buttons, you'll need to go to the objective directly via Performance & Development > Objectives, or the Objectives tab on the Employee Dashboard, rather than from within the review. Remember that since your objectives are fixed at the point the review was inserted, marking one complete here won't change anything on this review, it'll only apply to reviews inserted afterwards.
