How to use Bulk Change to record objectives for a selected group of employees.
Contents
Introduction
There may be instances where you need to record the same objective for a group of employees.
Rather than repeating the data entry for each employee record, the objective can be recorded at the same time through the Bulk Change facility.
To enter an objective for a subset of employees
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Data Management > Bulk Change
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: People Admin > Tasks > Bulk Change
- A screen displaying a three step process will be displayed
Step 1
- Click Select person subset
- The subset screen will be displayed enabling you to select the records for whom the change is to be made. Follow the subset steps
| Note: For more details on Subsets please see the related linked guide. |
Step 2
- The screen will display your selected employee records in the Step 1 column
- In Step 2 there is a choice of Action or Field
- Since it is data that is to be recorded click Action and from the drop down list select Create an Objectives Record
Step 3
- For this particular change there are no processing options so Step 3 is not required
- Click Continue
- Click on the icon in the top right of the screen to view the records selected
- On the Objective data entry screen record the objective as required
- Click Complete and Return to Bulk Change
- Click Finish on the Bulk Change screen
- An on screen report of the changes will be presented. Click Export to PDF if a hard copy of this information is required
- To view the data entry record for any of the individual employees in the affected subset select the required employee record and go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Objectives
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent Management > Objectives
| Note: Bulk Change is irreversible so care should be taken when selecting the group of records and in ensuring the data entry is accurate e.g. correct dates etc as any inaccuracies will be replicated for as many records as are in the subset. |
