This guide will show you how to record skills and qualifications in the Performance/Talent & Development area.

Overview
- Skills, competencies and qualifications can be recorded for your employees and will enable you to identify skills gaps and training and development needs
- Skills, competencies and qualifications can also be recorded as requirements for a Job
- Having completed the data recording in both areas of HR, the information can be used to carry out skills matching and identify potential role occupants based on how well they match the requirements of the role
To record Skills & Qualifications
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Skills & Qualifications
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Learning & Development > Skills & Qualifications
- The screen will display any qualifications for that employee that have already been
recorded - Click Insert New Record
- Select the Description, Subject Description and Level Description for the qualification that you are recording and add any Notes if required
- If the qualification is one that requires renewal enter the Renewal Date
- Click Update
| Note: All of the Description picklists are created from the related Qualification Categories Code Table. |
Associated Training
- The Associated Training tab will display the name of the training event that the qualification was gained from. Click the link for more details on Event Management
- Where the Associated Training is not used/required, the Tab has its own page permission so can be hidden
- The page permissions are updated per user role via:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: System Configuration > Role Management
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: System > Security > Role Management
- Select user role > Pages

| Note: The Associated Training pages are in addition to the Associated Needs/Qualification Tab Pages which can be attached to the Training Record/Details page and have their own page permissions. |
