Overview
When logging onto the Recruiters Portal using the Google Chrome web browser users may find that they are unable to login and receive the message Username or Password Incorrect, please try again even though they are positive that the correct login credentials have been used. If a user keeps trying to login and receives this message three times then their user account will become locked.
Google Chrome stores login credentials by default. If a user changes a password then Chrome should identify this and prompt to update the password in Chrome. Users may decline or ignore the popup or may not see the popup if a popup blocker is active. All of these will result in the login credentials being populated with the old password.
Additionally, users who have access to the Admin Portal as well as the Recruiters Portal will have totally separate user accounts each portal. In some instances, because the username for both portals is the email address and the first part of the portal URL is the same eg https://company.ciphr-irecruit.com/admin and https://company.ciphr-irecruit.com/recruiters Google Chrome may recognise this as the same website and will populate the login credentials with those of the last successful logon to the Admin or Recruiters Portals.
There are two potential solutions to resolving the situation.
Note: Adopting either of these methods will affect all logins to all systems used on the web browser. |
