Overview
Benefits Integration sends your HR data to the Benefits platform automatically. Once an employee is synced, any change you make to their record - a new address, a salary change, a Benefits Level update - reaches Benefits automatically, usually within a couple of minutes. You don't need to re-key anything or ask Ciphr to push updates through.
HR is the source for this data. Keep employee details up to date in HR, and Benefits stays in step.
Getting started
These things need to be in place first:
- Ciphr has switched on the Benefits Integration module for your Ciphr HR site.
- Ciphr has configured your HR site with a Benefits platform ID, sub-domain, and chosen email source (home, work, or services).
- Your user role has the Benefits Management page permission. If you can't see Data Management > Benefits Management in your HR menu, you don't have this permission yet - ask your system administrator. Read-only users can view the Benefits Management page and sync history, but can't start a sync or assign a Benefits Level.
- You will need to grant single sign on (SSO) to each user role containing employees who will access Benefits via HR. Start with your HR user role for testing and then grant access to the other roles when everything is ready.
How to sync employees
There are two routes to start the sync:
- New starters - tick Create Benefits Record in the Add new employee workflow, and the sync starts automatically when you save them.
- Existing employees - bring them in manually from the Benefits Management page. This can be done individually or in bulk.
After that first sync, updates happen in the background. No further action needed.
