Purpose
When candidates register through the Ciphr iRecruit Candidate Portal, they can subscribe to job‑alert emails based on the types of roles and the locations they are interested in. These preferences ensure that job alerts are tailored and relevant.
This article explains how Categories, Sub‑categories, Locations, and multi‑selection all work.
Selecting Job Categories
- Candidates will see a list of Categories representing broad job types.
- Clicking a category will automatically display the associated Sub‑categories.
- These help candidates refine the types of roles they want to be notified about.
Selecting Multiple Categories
Ciphr iRecruit supports multi‑selection.
To choose more than one category:
- Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac)
- Click each category the candidate wants to add
The Sub‑categories list will update to show all sub‑categories linked to the selected categories.
Selecting Sub‑Categories
Once categories have been chosen, the candidate can select:
- A single sub‑category, or
- Multiple sub‑categories if they want a broader match
These choices influence the job alerts they receive.
Selecting Job Locations
Candidates can also select the locations where they would like to work. These preferences help ensure job alerts are geographically relevant.
How Location Selection Works
- Candidates will see a list of Locations (such as regions, towns, sites, or offices, depending on your organisation’s setup).
- Selecting a location tells the system where the candidate is willing to work.
Selecting Multiple Locations
If a candidate is open to more than one work area, they can choose multiple locations.
To select multiple locations:
- Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac)
- Click each additional location
The system will record all selected locations and include them in job‑alert matching. This means candidates will receive alerts for any jobs that fall within any of their chosen locations.
How These Selections Affect Job Alerts
Ciphr iRecruit sends candidates job‑alert emails based on all of the following:
- Categories
- Sub‑categories
- Locations
The more areas a candidate selects, the broader the alerts they will receive.
