This guide explains how to create and complete Peer Reviews within the Performance & Development/Talent Management area of HR, which can be used to gather feedback from indirect managers or fellow employees.

Overview

A peer review allows someone other than the line manager to provide feedback on an employee’s review.
There are two ways to complete a peer review, depending on the hierarchical relationship:- Senior managers who can view the employee as an indirect subordinate in the hierarchy can access the overall review via the Employee Dashboard

Peers (colleagues or dotted-line managers) who do not have access to the employee as a subordinate can provide peer feedback via the dedicated page. They will not be able to see the overall review, including forms completed by the employee, manager, or other peers
To create Peer Reviews
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Employee Dashboard > Reviews tab
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent management > Employee Dashboard > Reviews tab
- The screen will display any reviews already set up for the selected employee
- Click Insert New Record
- Enter a Description and select the review from the list of Review Type options
- Set a Next Review Date if required

Note: For more details on Review Types see the linked guide. The options that are presented in the Peer Review will be determined by the settings in the Review Type. The Review Type must have the option to Allow Peer Reviews set in order to use that type in a Peer Review. |
- Options, as defined in the Review Type, will be presented
- For the Employee and the Manager the names will be pre-populated
- For the Peers select as many peers as is required to have input into the review
- Depending on the review type configuration, there may be a choice of forms for the reviewers to complete
- Click Submit and confirmation of the review will be presented

- You will then be presented with the Employee Dashboard on the Reviews tab where the newly created review will be displayed
- Click on the review to display the review components
- Any peer(s) will be listed underneath the employee/manager (if included) and the row will be green if you are the reviewer, to highlight your form for completion

Completing the review
- Where employee/manager forms are included in the review they should be completed as normal via the Employee Dashboard - see Completing Performance Reviews for full details
- Peers should complete the review via one of the following methods:
Senior manager peer
- A senior manager can go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Employee Dashboard > Reviews tab
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent management > Employee Dashboard > Reviews tab
- By default they will see their direct subordinates, so need to extend the manager level in the advanced search to view further down the hierarchy
- More criteria can be added here or they can just click search and will see more people in the dropdown list to find the appropriate person
- Once the correct person is selected, the manager can click into the relevant review
- They can review the employee and manager form(s) and any other peer(s) subject to the review configuration, and will see a green highlighted row for them to complete
- When clicking on the green row the questions as set up in the Review Form will be presented for completion
- Complete each section of the form (there may only be one as shown above) and click Submit Section to move through in the usual manner
- Once all sections have been completed the sign off box will appear. Sign Off will complete the review and make the form read-only so Continue can be used to carry on editing if needed
Peers with no subordinate access
- Peers who have no access to the employee in the system (such as a colleague or dotted line manager) can go to the dedicated peer review area by going to:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Provide Peer Feedback
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: Talent & Development > Talent Management > Peer Reviews

- Click on the review to display the review form and complete the sections as required. Only the peer form will display here so there is no access to the other forms (employee/manager/other peers), allowing the peer to have input without see other potentially sensitive information they would normally have access to
- Complete each section of the form (there may only be one as shown above) and click Submit Section to move through in the usual manner
- Once all sections have been completed the sign off box will appear. Sign Off will complete the review and make the form read-only so Continue can be used to carry on editing if needed
- Once signed off the review will disappear from the summary screen unless the slider is set to display
