Step-by-step guide
This guide will show you how to manage the password configuration for newly created AD objects as part of the New Starter process.
Contents
Introduction
By default, the AD Connector service creates a randomly generated password and assigns this to all users. This behaviour can be amended and the complexity adjusted for your requirements.
Adjust Complexity
Go to the following area:
-
Login to your AD Connector portal (IT Access only)
-
Workflow Configuration > New Starter - User Creation > Edit Chart > Generate Password > Edit
From within this action you can define the password requirements for all new user objects.
Hardcoded password
Where possible, Ciphr recommends uniquely generated passwords for all new user objects but it is possible to assign a single password to all new user objects on creation. To complete this you will need to complete the following steps.
Define password value
Go to the following area:
- Workflow Configuration > New Starter - User Creation > Global Variables > Edit Record
Edit the UserPassword variable to the password you wish to assign all new users.
Disable password generation
Go to the following area:
- Workflow Configuration > New Starter - User Creation > Global Variables > Edit Record
Edit the FlagGenerateUserPassword value to "FALSE"
