September 2026 release
Employee provisioning via single sign-on
- Administrators can now invite employees to Cloud individually or in bulk, directly from the system. Each employee's status shows as Not provisioned, Invite sent, or Active, and the welcome email is sent automatically on first invite
- This applies to companies using single sign-on without Ciphr HR. For companies using both Ciphr HR and Payroll Cloud, access continues to be managed from HR and the same statuses are visible read-only in Cloud
Statutory sick pay
- A new end-of-reference-period cut-off option allows SSP to be paid, and salary deducted, through to the end of the reference period for employees on long-term sickness. This is consistent with how parental leave already works. Existing cut-off options are unchanged
Deduction orders
- Deduction from earnings orders and attachment of earnings orders can now hold the 2-weekly and 4-weekly rates exactly as stated on the order, ensuring the precise amount is deducted each period for employees paid on those cycles. Existing orders continue to work as before
Reducing balance loans
- A loan whose final repayment falls in the current open pay run can now be edited or paused. Pausing removes the deduction from the payslip and credits the amount back to the loan balance. The loan locks as normal once the pay run is closed
Fixes
- Council Tax Attachment of Earnings Orders (England) could under-deduct against the statutory table. Deductions are now calculated correctly
- Deduction from Net, Other Deduction, and Deduction Order showed as 0.00 on the Gross to Net Detail report. They now show the correct amounts
- An SSP maximum entitlement warning for old sickness dates could appear in current pay runs when the employee was not currently sick. The warning now only appears where relevant
- When an integrated HR system removed an absence end date, a manually entered end date in payroll was not cleared, which could affect linked periods of sickness for SSP purposes. This is now handled correctly
