This guide provides a task list of all you need to know to prepare for the new and improved Onboarding.
New Onboarding has arrived!
- The Onboarding experience now features a modern, refreshed interface that perfectly aligns with the look and feel of your HR system. This means users enjoy a seamless experience as they move from onboarding to starting in their new roles
-
Here’s what’s new:
- Simplified admin: You can now set up and manage onboarding user roles directly in HR, just like your regular HR roles
- Smart automation: Users can be automatically moved from their onboarding role to their normal role on their start date - saving busy HR teams time and reducing manual work
- These updates make onboarding smoother and more connected, for both admins and new starters alike. The task list below covers the actions required to get ready for the new experience
Task list
To prepare for the update there are a few important steps to ensure your users can enjoy the benefits of the new onboarding
- Check/create onboarding user role(s): Note content group will not be available to select until the update has occurred; however, leaving this blank will apply the default group so only needs to be amended if the user role will see a different content group
- Check login methods
- Users logging in to HR will see minimal change. They will be directed to the Get started page automatically meaning less clicks to get to the onboarding content
- Users logging into the external onboarding portal will need to log into HR post update and set up new sign-in details. See Sign-in password reset for non-SSO users guide
-
Post update: Grant new page access to user roles as appropriate. The Onboarding page will disappear and be replaced by the two new integrated pages :
- Get started: Onboarders and any other user roles who may wish to view the content
- Content management: Any user roles involved in onboarding content configuration (previously managed in the former onboarding portal) - see linked guide for more details
4. Once user roles have all been checked, you're all set to enjoy the new Onboarding
