Introduction
When an employee is made a leaver it is mandatory to select the reason. The more comprehensive that the Leaving Reasons codes table is will enable reports to provide a greater level of clarity as to why employees are leaving.
Leaving Reasons
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Data Management > Code Tables
- Pre 2025 (top) menu: System > System Administration > Code Tables
- From the Group choose People and then select the Leaving Reasons table
- The screen will display all the existing codes
To create a Leaving Reason
- Click Insert New Record
- Create a code and a description for the entry. The description will be selectable when making an employee a leaver
- The code is used in reporting and is not visible as part of data entry
- Leaving Reasons is important categorisation which enables grouping of reasons for reporting purposes (such as voluntary vs involuntary). The list is “self-generating” ie If another grouping option is required that does not already exist in the list simply typing the entry will add it to the list
- Click Update
To edit a Leaving Reason
- Click on the Leaving Reason to be edited and then revise as required
- Click Update
To delete a Leaving Reason
- Click on the Leaving Reason to be deleted and then click Delete
| Note: If a Leaving Reason has already been “used”, it can not be deleted. |
