Query
“Manager hasn’t received a booking request”
“No approval email for staff bookings”
“Booking Request - Manager not sent”
“Manager can’t approve a booking”
Answer
The LMS sends Booking Request - Manager to the learner’s manager as soon as they request a place on a schedule that needs approval. If the manager doesn’t receive it, LMS emails may be switched off or blocked, the schedule may not need manager approval, or the learner may not have a line manager set.
How to fix it
-
Check LMS emails are switched on. Go to Admin > Advanced > Manage Settings > E-mails and make sure Send E-mails is on
- Check whether the email was sent. Go to Admin > Manage Content > Notification History and search for the manager. If Booking Request - Manager is listed, the LMS sent it. Ask your IT team to allow emails from the digits.co.uk domain. If it isn’t listed, continue below
-
Check the schedule needs manager approval. Open the workshop, go to the Schedules tab and edit the schedule. Check the Booking Approval Type
-
Check the learner has a line manager. Go to Admin > Manage Users > Manage Users, find the learner and select Edit Profile. On the Employment tab, check Line Manager is set. If your user data comes from Ciphr HR, update it there
-
Check the template has content. Go to Admin > Manage Content > Manage Notifications and select Booking Request - Manager from the Email Templates dropdown. Make sure the subject and message aren’t blank
- If it still isn’t sent, raise a ticket with the learner, the manager, the activity and the date of the booking request
|
Important: If Send E-mails is off, the LMS doesn’t send any notifications |
