Introduction
Accord Payroll calculates Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) automatically once you enter the match week, placement date, and SAP start date. SAP recovery is automatically offset against your company's PAYE and NIC liability and appears on the P32 Yearly Totals report. The SAP amount is also printed on the employee's P60 and P35 Continuation Sheet.
Set up an SAP payment plan
- Select the required employee.
- Click the Miscellaneous tab, then click the SAP button.
- Enter the Match Week, Placement Date, and SAP Start date, then click Calculate.
- If prompted, enter the employee's average weekly earnings and tick the Override AWE checkbox.
- Click Update to view the SAP weekly payments table.
- Click Update again to confirm the plan, then click Close. Your SAP payment plan is now set up.
Note: If you prefer to enter SAP manually, use wage type 210000 (SAP Adjustment) on the Transactions tab. Reporting will be the same regardless of method.
