Introduction
Accord Payroll calculates Ordinary Statutory Paternity Pay (OSPP) automatically once you enter the relevant dates. SPP recovery is automatically offset against your company's PAYE and NIC liability and appears on the P32 Yearly Totals report. The amount is also printed on the employee's P60 and P35 Continuation Sheet.
Set up an SPP payment plan
- Select the required employee.
- Click the Miscellaneous tab, then click the SPP button.
- Enter the Expected Week of Confinement (EWC), the date of the baby's birth, and the SPP start date, then click Calculate.
Note: If you do not know the EWC, you can enter the baby's date of birth in the EWC field instead.
- If prompted, enter the employee's average weekly earnings and tick the AWE checkbox.
- Click Calculate, then click Update to confirm.
- Click Close. The OSPP payment plan is now set up on the employee's record.
Note: If you prefer to enter SPP manually, use wage type 202000 on the Transactions tab. Reporting will be the same regardless of method.
