Overview
Many of the Ciphr HR pages provide the ability to filter, sort, search and group data to facilitate location of the record you wish to work with.
| Note: The details in this article relate to the Jobs table but the principles can be applied to other areas of Ciphr HR. |
Filtering the view
- Filters enable you to view records that meet a criteria e.g. current occupants of a role, or a specific review category type
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Job, Pay & Reward > Job and Pay Administration > Jobs
- Pre 2025 (top) menu: People Admin > Jobs
- By default, the list will display Current Jobs but this can be filtered to view All, Current Jobs or Closed Jobs as required
- The records that are visible can be further refined by using the search functionality, which can be by Job Number, Job Title, Department or Location
- Alongside each of the column headings in the table there is a filter button
- Clicking on the field filter will enable you to refine the list presented based on your filter criteria
Sorting the view and Searching for records
Sorting the view
- Column headings can be used to change the sort order of the data
- By clicking on a column heading an arrow will be displayed to change the sort order to Ascending, click again to change to Descending and click again to return to the default for that column at which point the arrow will not be displayed
Searching for records
- Having entered the search criteria clicking on the Magnifier will locate matching records from which you can make your selection
Grouping the view
- On many screens you will see the text “Drag a column header and drop it here to group by that column”
- The effect of carrying out this action will be to change the view such that the data is grouped by the column header that has been selected e.g. Location
- Clicking on the triangle adjacent to the location name will enable you to contract or expand the group listing
