Step-by-step guide
Learning Plans provide a structured programme of learning activities that can be assigned
and/or restricted to select organisation groups.
Create a learning plan
We'll now guide you through the process of creating a Learning Plan in three simple steps:
1. Learning plan details
- In the menu, navigate to Admin > Manage Training > Manage Learning Plan to open
the Manage Learning Plans page - Select the Add Learning Plan button
- Add a Learning Plan Name and then click Save & Edit to start creating your Plan
- Enter the Description and Instructions, if required and select Save
- If you wish to upload a bespoke thumbnail for your Learning Plan, click on the pencil
icon Edit button, click to choose the file or drag and drop it into the area before
clicking Continue. This will appear in the Learning Library and when you view the
Learning Activity Details - Click Save
2. Restrictions and Assignments
It is now time to add any Restrictions and Assignments to your Learning Plan:

Restrictions |
Select Add Restrictions to add visibility restriction to a course using the organisational structure levels.
Users who do not fall into the restricted group will not be able to search for the course using either the Quick Search or Learning Library features.

Edit / Delete |
Allows you to edit or delete existing restrictions.
The Edit button will open the organisational structure filters and allow you to edit existing filter options or location details.
The Delete button will remove your chosen restriction.

Assignment

Assignments |
Select Add Assignments to add the course to a user’s assigned courses using the organisational structure levels.
Users who fall into the selected assignment group will find the course in their Relevant Learning page. They will also be able to search for the course using the Assignment filter in the Learning Library.
A Line Manager field can be used to assign content to users who have Line Manager Responsibility checked in their profile employment details. This does not require organisational filters to be applied.

Individual Assignment

3. Settings
Now it's time to add any Settings to your Learning Plan:
Category | If you have added any categories then you can select a Category which can be used when filtering Search content in the Learning Library. |
Competency | If you have added any Competencies then you can select a Competency which can be used when filtering Search content in the Learning Library. |
Level | If you have added any levels you can select a Level which can be used when filtering Search content in the Learning Library. |
Due Date | Click on the Edit button to set Due Date options. |
Duration |
Details of the duration of the total learning time for the Learning Plan. This information is displayed in the summary details in the Learning Library. |
Mandatory |
Identify if the Learning Plan is mandatory. This means that no other Learning Journeys can be accessed without first fully completing this Learning Plan. This feature can be useful for onboarding or compliance-related training. |
Launch on Login if not Completed |
Identify if the Learning Plan should be launched on login and therefore be the only learning activity available to the user until it is fully completed. This feature can be useful for onboarding training where users are required to complete an induction Learning Plan before doing any other training. |
