Running and completing a skills analysis
This guide will show you, as both a subject (staff member) or a rater (peer, reportee or manager) how to run, complete and interpret a skills analysis.

Setting up the Skills Analysis
Administrators will set up a skills analysis by uploading a template and then assigning it using the rules engine. For instructions on how to do this, click on the following links

Running the Skills Analysis
An employee will receive an email to notify them that the skills analysis is ready to run. They should then:-
- From the menu, select Learning > Skills > Skills Analysis
- Click Start to launch the assigned Skills Analysis
- Rate your competency against each question using the slider/button
- Click Finish
- Your results will then be displayed and a list of Recommended Learning based on your answers
- If required, you can then select Invite Manager for their feedback or Invite 360o to send this to a group of raters for a full 360o feedback
Inviting your manager
Inviting your manager can only take place once you have completed your skills assessment by selecting the Start button. If you would like to send the assessment to your Manager:
- From the menu, select Learning > Skills > Skills Analysis
- Select Invite Manager
- Search for the Manager or select from the dropdown list
- Click Select
This has now been sent to your Manager for review as indicated.
Your Manager will receive an email notifying them that they’ve been invited to complete a 180 degree review and a link to the Skills Assessment.
Once they have completed the assessment, you will be notified via email and the status of Sent will change to Completed.
Inviting a group for 360 degree review
If you would like to send the assessment to a group of raters (3600 review):
- From the menu, select Learning > Skills > Skills Analysis
- Click Invite 360
- Select whether the raters are Peers, Direct Reports or Others. This is the description that will appear on the Spider Diagram and the Assessment Report
- Then Search for the users by typing in their name or email address and clicking Select
- Select the users
- Click Add
Note: you need to select at least 3 raters to gain an average 360 review unless the default review number has been amended in the template. |
- If the rater does not appear on the search or you wish to invite users outside of the LMS, enter their Full Name and E-email address
- Click Add
- Once you have finished adding your raters, click Update
This has now been sent to your group for review as indicated.
Each rater will receive an email notifying them that they’ve been invited to complete a 360o and a link to the Skills Assessment.
Learning Skills page
The Learning Skills page contains all the information you need to keep track of your Skills Analysis assessments, 180 and 360 reviews and Recommended Training. This can be access via the menu, then Learning > Skills > Skills Analysis.
Click on each area of the page to learn more:
Summary widget
- The Summary Widget presents baseline ratings for an assessment and an overall summary of all results.
- You can change the assessment results presented in the spider chart via the dropdown menu.
360 Reviews widget
- The 360 Reviews Widget presents a breakdown of baseline, your rating, 180 and 360 results tagged as Peers, Direct Reports and Other
- You can change the assessment results presented in the spider chart via the dropdown menu.
Recommended Learning
Recommended learning activities from completing your assessment will be presented in the carousel.
Select an activity to launch and complete it.
Team Skills Page
- You can see a summary of results using the Skills Advisor Average Score spider chart
- Select a template and organisation filter to present the results
