Assigning a skills analysis template using the Rules Engine
Before you start, make sure you've uploaded your skills analysis template. Not done that yet? Follow our guide on populating and uploading a skills analysis template first.
Once your template is ready, here's how to assign it to employees using the Rules Engine.
Set up your rule
Go to Admin > Advanced > Manage Rules and select Add Rule.
Give your rule a name and add any notes, then switch on the Active toggle. If you need this rule to run for a set period, add a start and end date.
Add the action
Click Add under Actions, then choose Skills Analysis: Assign template for. Select your template and set who it applies to, in this case, the User.
Add a condition
The Rules Engine gives you the full range of conditions available across the platform, so you can target employees in whatever way works best for your organisation. The example below is the most common setup when assigning a skills analysis template.
Example: To assign the template to all Sales Executives:
- Click Add under Conditions
- Select User structure for
- Choose Job Role
- Select Sales Executive
- Set this to Is assigned
- Click Save
What happens next
Once the rule is active, the template is assigned automatically to any matching employees. They can then run their skills analysis straight away. See our Running the skills analysis guide for next steps.
