This guide will show you how to create and submit the NINO Verification Request (NVR).

Overview
The NINO Verification Request (NVR) should only be submitted when a new employee has been recruited and there is a requirement to verify or obtain that employee’s National Insurance Number.
| Note: An NVR can only be submitted two weeks after your first FPS (full payment submission) using the payroll software. |
Creating a new NVR
- Click Payroll > Other Utilities > RTI > RTI Submissions
- Click Add New
- From the menu presented select ‘New NVR (NINO verification Request)’
- Enter any required/missing data
- Most of the fields will be pre- populated
- Tick all additional companies in the PAYE scheme on the Additional Companies check list
- If you are acting as a payroll agent for the client then the agent details must be populated
- Having completed the details as required click Next
- Use the Add New and Delete buttons to select the employees for NINO verification
- Once complete click Finish then Start in the next pop-up window
- The new NVR submission will be shown in the HMRC RTI submissions window
- To submit the NVR Submission select the NVR line on the HMRC RTI Submissions window and click Submit

Notes: Having submitted NVR request you will receive NVR verification response from HMRC through the DPS channel or on the HMRC Web Portal for your PAYE reference. This may take few days If you are using the Accord Payroll DPS module the NVR a response will appear in the list of downloaded documents together with P6, P9, SL1, SL2,AR,NOT, RTI documents and you should process the NVR instructions by entering/clearing/changing the NINO field on the employee entry form |
