This guide will show you how to create a report on the number of continued professional development (CPD) training hours each employee has completed in a specified timeframe.

Building the Report
- Go to Reporting/Reports > Report Admin > Report Designer
- Select Insert New Record
Follow these steps along each page of the wizard:
- Step 1 - Design a new report
- Step 2 - Select Training as the Master table on the left-hand side of your screen and insert the fields listed in the table below
| Note: Once you have select Training as your Master table, do not change it. The other tables you will need can be found at the bottom of the list on the left hand side. |

| Note: ‘Department’ (OrgUnit1) may be called something different in your system, this is a configurable field. |
- Step 3 - You do not need to select any data rules
- Step 4 - Do not include an additional table
- Step 5 - Include a standard set of current staff
- Step 6 - Include a filter form of Training
- Step 7 - Finish your report by including a Title, Description and selecting a Report Group
- Select Save and you will now be able to enter your filter details in the training filter form to export your report
- Click Continue
| Note: You do not need to enter data into every section of the training filter. You must select a date range, the other fields are optional |
Creating a Report in Excel
- The downloaded Excel document will have three worksheets included along the bottom, use the first worksheet called Report to create a Pivot Table. Once you enable editing on your Excel document, you can click into the Pivot Table square to begin including your fields
- Drag the fields from your Pivot Table Field List to the appropriate boxes at the bottom. You can follow the image on the right to see a report based on each employee’s CPD training time by department
- You can apply a Label Filter to the ‘Training CPD’ column for fields greater than 0 to remove any courses not counted as CPD
- Once happy with the presentation of your report, check your template back in to save the formatting changes
- Then click Edit Settings to enable it and grant access to the appropriate user roles for them to be able to run it from the Reports menu. See the linked guides for more details
