This guide will introduce you to the Course Bank and how to create a course.

Overview
The Course Bank enables you to create a profile for each course that you may offer with the default information that you would normally associate with that course, eg default duration, supplier and venue. Having created courses in the Course Bank, events can then be created, which are instances of a course which you have a specific start and end date based on the duration of the course.
Creating a Course
- Go to the following area:
- Latest (left-hand) menu: Performance & Development > Performance & Development Configuration > Course Bank Configuration
- Pre-2025 (top) menu: People Admin > Training & Events > Course Bank
- The screen will display all the courses that have been set up in the Course Bank
- Click Insert New Record
- Enter a Code and a Title for the course, and enter the default duration in Days and Hours, and the number of places available
- Record if attendance on the course carries any Training CPD (continuing professional development) hours
- From the dropdown lists, select the Training Type, Training Method and use the magnifiers to select the normal Supplier, Venue and Tutor
- You can then also attach a set of evaluation questions for the course

Note: The lists for Training Type, Training Method, Supplier, Venue and Tutor are all set up in the following area:

- If the Tutor field is populated and the slider is set for Event Trainer, then any events set up for this course type will automatically have the person in the Tutor field assigned to them
- If required, enter the details for the Administrator and their Job Title. These fields can be used when generating joining information for the delegates as part of the merge process

Select any related files that are to be used in conjunction with this course as required. If you choose to Publish Brochure, then that file will be available to view when booking for an event
- Click Update
- Locate the course you have just created in the list and click on it to open
- The course will now have a Qualifications tab
- This can be used to record any Qualifications that a delegate would be awarded by attending this training
- Click Add New Record and select from the Category, Subject and Level dropdown lists, the qualification(s) that would be attained
- Click Update
Who has received this training?
- The Who has received this training? button will show on screen anyone who has previously attended this training and has a record of this training in their Training Details
- Click on the name of a person in the list to view their training record
Who has a need for this training?

The Who has a need for this training? button will show on screen anyone who has a Development Need recorded for this training
- Click on the name of a person in the list to view their training record
