What are the steps to complete year end?

Do I need to get a new version of the software?

Our Payroll Software is completely cloud based. Once the new tax year is ready, it will be automatically updated and you will be able to start the year without having to do anything.

How do I issue P60s to my employees?

Free accounts - You can download to print the P60s.

Paid Subscription - You can email as well as download the P60s.

How do I notify HMRC that it is my final submission?

When you run year end, an EPS - Employer Payment Summary will be created for you.

Will tax codes L, M, and N be automatically changed when I run year end?

If you are running year end through the system, you will be taken through a process that will automatically update the different tax codes. You will also be given the opportunity to review the tax code changes. Sometimes HMRC issues a P9 for the new year if an employee's tax code changes more than the standard uplift. If you have received notices for the new year that are outside of the system, you will be able to apply them during the year end process.

Will it apply P9s?

If you have a paid subscription and have signed up to receive tax code notices and changes through your government gateway, the system will automatically apply the changes when you run year end and throughout the tax year when you check. Do I need to inform HMRC about my eligibility for the Employment Allowance?

Employment Allowance does not renew every year and you now need to send HMRC an EPS every year. If you indicated in the company setup that you were eligible for the Employment Allowance and you continue to be for the next tax year, when you run year end, an EPS will be created for you to submit to HMRC. When will the new tax year be ready?

The new tax year will be ready towards the end of March. You will get a notification when you log into the system when you are able to select your first pay run for the new year.

Can I set up for the new tax year?

If you are deciding to migrate to our software for the new tax year, you can start inputting your details into the system such as company setup details, and employee details. You won't be able to set your first pay run in the new tax year until late March when the system is updated with the new tax details. Once this has happened, you will be able to change the first pay date to sometime in the new tax year which begins on the 6th April.
