| Feature coming soon: Self-serve notifications are currently only available to early-access customers. A date for launch to all customers will be announced, giving you notice to update these settings. |
This guide explains how you can control which users can access Manage Notifications by updating their role page permissions in HR. These settings are managed through role management, where you can edit existing roles or create dedicated roles with specific access.
|
|
⚠ Before you start: A system administrator licence is required to Manage Notifications, so page permission alone does not grant access. Anyone with access to Manage Notifications can create, change and switch on notifications that email your employees, so only give access to the people who need it. Notification audiences are evaluated by the system, so a notification can include employees the user isn't able to see in HR. Any audience count shown is only what that user can see. Global Settings apply to every notification in your system, not just one, so changes there affect all notifications. Access is included as part of the Manage Notifications page. |
Update Manage Notifications permissions in role management
Follow the steps below to change access for any HR role:
- Go to System configuration > Role management
- Select the role you want to edit from the list
- Choose Pages from the Actions popup
- Use the search bar or scroll down the list to find "Manage Notifications"
- Set the permissions and then click Review Changes and then Update to save the changes
- Anyone in this role with access will see Manage Notifications under Employee Communications in the HR menu
| Note: If users assigned to this role are already logged in, they'll need to reload HR for the permission change to take effect. |
Additional notes
- Permissions can be updated at any time
- If you are introducing Manage Notifications access to multiple roles, repeat these steps for each one
- Removing someone's access doesn't stop notifications they've already set up. Live notifications keep sending until someone with access changes them to Disabled
