This guide will show a list of common Tags, which are available to use in Notifications.

Introduction
What are Tags in Notifications?
Tags are placeholders used in Notification templates that automatically pull in specific data from the LMS. Think of them like “smart fields” that get replaced with real information when the message is sent.
For example:
“Hello {Firstname}, your course {CourseName} starts on {CourseStartDate}.”
When sent from the LMS will appear as:
“Hello Jane, your course Digital Learning Essentials starts on 1st July 2025.”
Each Tag ie {Firstname} is linked to a specific piece of data in the LMS.
Why use Tags?
- Personalisation: Messages feel tailored to each learner
- Automation: No need to manually enter names, dates, or course titles

Tags
You can add Tags when creating/editing Notifications by clicking on Tags in the editor. Additionally, you can manually add your own from the list below.
