Introduction
Development Needs can be recorded for an employee which may assist with achievement of objectives, performance issues and/or succession planning. A need can be for a specific course which has been created in the Course Bank, for a Development Need which has been set up in the Development Needs code table, or an ad hoc need which can be entered as free text.
Any reports that are run or created will be more accurate and more inclusive if the need has been recorded against a course or a development need. Data that is recorded on an ad hoc basis is more likely to have typing or spelling errors, making reporting more challenging and is more likely to be less accurate.
