For an admin who is creating a learning activity and wants to ensure that it's not visible to end users.
Question
How do I keep a learning activity hidden until it's ready to launch/go live?
Answer
Under the Details tab within the Learning Activity, scroll down to Search Availability.
The Search Availability area determines who can find a Learning Activity through search - either all users or administrators only.
If set to 'Admin only', the activity will not appear in search results for regular users. So, if a user searches for an activity that has been set as 'Admin only' they won't see the activity unless they have admin access.
To keep an activity hidden during its creation, set Search Availability to 'Admin only' and don't assign it to any users.
When you're ready to launch the activity, assign it to the appropriate users and update the Search Availability setting to 'All' if you want users to be able to find it, even if it's not yet assigned to them.
