Once you have updated your DNS SPF (sender policy framework) record you can carry out a quick check following the steps below to make sure that it has been added correctly.
-
Open https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx in the browser of your choice
-
Type in the domain that emails are set to send from your Ciphr system. For example, if the emails are set to send from hr@yourcompany.com you would enter the value yourcompany.com
-
Click the drop down and select the option SPF Record Lookup
-
Click on the SPF Record Lookup button and the results will be generated in a table visible within the browser
-
If there are any issues with your DNS SPF record this will be displayed in a red box
-
If the DNS SPF record has been set up correctly you will see the line in the results below and the DNS SPF record will be validated in a green box
-
If the ‘Pass’ line is not in the results you will need to check the DNS SPF record you updated against the example we provided
