Error triggered when inserting a New Starter

ISSUE

You may receive this error when trying to insert a new starter using the New Employee Wizard:

ROOT CAUSE

Pick Lists have a character limit of 20 characters and if you are selecting an option in a Pick List that exceeds this, then it will trigger the error seen in the screenshot above.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this, please review all the options you have selected in a Pick List Field in any records or details you may have selected and identify which one has exceeded 20 characters.

Navigate to:

System > System Administration > Pick Lists > Search for the Pick List that exceeds the 20 character limit > Amend the option that has exceeded this limit and then ‘Update’
